GreenBlast is the Authorised Reseller/Distributor for Aquablast UK's - Aquablaster in South East Asia. Aquablaster is a firm part of the future of surface preparation. It's the most efficient and environmentally friendly low volume wet abrasive blasting available today for dust-free cleaning of steel, concrete, fibreglass or wood. Aquablaster is infinitely controllable and can rapidly produce an SA3 preparation standard on steel as easily as it can massage dirt and contamination from 500 year old oak beams.

SOME ADVANTAGES OF THE AQUABLASTER

1

01. COATS the GARNET with LAYERS of WATER before it touches the SURFACE.
02. REDUCES the ABRASIVE CONSUMPTION by 75% if GARNET introduced and RECYCLED.
03. REDUCES the CAPITAL INVESTMENT by 40% against other SYSTEMS in the MARKET.
04. fully SECURES the GARNET to be re-used and RECYCLED
05. ensures and ELIMINATES all SPARK RISKS as the GARNET is fully WET before it touches SURFACE

06. No Dust
07. No Chemicals
08. No Heat
09. No Toxic By-products
10. Runs hours on a single fill
11. Nozzles and hoses last thousands of hours

The highly efficient pressurised wet abrasive system makes the use of garnet, olivine, recycled glass and other special abrasives commonplace. Cost per square metre is invariably lower with Aquablaster than conventional open dry and dusty grit blasting.

Linked to an Aquablast UHP source via Aquablast's unique 'Superstripper' tool, blasting performance jumps by nearly 50% -- a spectacular improvement to hand-held blasting performance. The system runs without re-filling for hours. Abrasive consumption is so miserly that you will be amazed how low your consumables expenses are. There is virtually negligible wear on hoses and nozzles because the abrasive is water-lubricated and delivered so smoothly to the tungsten carbide nozzle. Aquablaster is no ordinary blasting pot - the pressure vessel is charged with water, not compressed air and the abrasive / water mix can be finely metered to suit virtually any blasting application. When the wet abrasive particles enter a compressed air stream they fly faster and smoother than any dry blasting system, impacting the target in a uniformly dispersed, high velocity pattern. The result is far more efficient use of the abrasive blast media and consequently higher production rates.

The real pay-off is that Aquablaster consequently makes the use of more expensive abrasives cost-effective. For steel surface preparation, almandite garnet is highly efficient, demonstrating consumption rates of around 15 Kgs / sq. mtr compared to 40-45 Kgs / sq. mtr for an equivalent open dry air blasting system. Garnet can, in addition, be recycled and this contributes even greater savings.

Look at further information on Superstripper to see what Aquablaster boosted by UHP water can achieve. Typical nozzle sizes for Aquablaster are 5/16 inch; 3/8 inch (9mm) and ½ inch (13mm). For delicate work the smaller-diameter nozzles can perform the most delicate work -- there is almost infinite adjustment available between the vessel water pressure and the compressed air flow. Sensitive materials like old timbers or wooden furniture can have paint or varnish skilfully massaged away to expose the original wood in almost pristine condition. Compressed air from about 200 cfm - 375 cfm is required (5.5 m3/min to 10.5 m3/min) at 7-10 bar depending on the blast nozzle orifice selected.

Aquablaster is in widespread use in the leisure craft industry where GRP (glass-re-inforced plastic) hulls can, with practice, be prepared for re-coating to very high standards. Abrasives such as olivine, crushed waste glass, calcium carbonate and many other materials heavier than water can be used to great effect. Top of the Page
